Custom Build or Store Setup? Hybrid Help for a Chronic Pain Couple Seeking Insight

Hey everyone, I’ve been looking into getting a new mattress and I’m deciding between custom-building a hybrid or going with something already made. I’m not local, but I’ve been looking at Mattress Makers in San Diego and their Soledad Hybrid caught my eye.

For context, it’s for two adults (190 lbs and 230 lbs) with real chronic issues, neck/shoulder pain, sciatica, and lower-back pain. We’ve tried different types of latex setups (Talalay, Dunlop, and hybrids), and both of us do much better on a hybrid with latex on top. I’ve also gotten used to looking at ILDs to understand firmness and what tends to feel right for us long-term.

Before I make the trip down there, I wanted to check here and see if anyone owns one of their hybrids or can share insight, how their firmness options feel in real life, whether their ILDs line up with standard ranges, and whether their Talalay is all-natural or blended. I seem to be sensitive to pressure changes, so I’m trying to understand if there’s a noticeable difference between the two types in terms of feel or pressure relief.

Thanks in advance!

I think a few people have that mattress here. I remember one glowing review. Use the search function
