I’ve decided to purchase a new mattress from “Leisure Mattress Factory” here in Boise,Idaho.
I have narrowed it down to 2 choices.
The “Evolution” Mattress-Hybird sleep system.(Latex Layering) $3397
The “Serene Sleep” -Layered spring hybrid system.(Gel infused memory foam for comfort & coolness) $3099
Both are softer mattress with 1&1/2 inch Nano-coiled pocketed coils,Both are for side sleepers looking for support & comfort. Relief from pressure points & edge to edge support.
I’m leaning towards the “Serene Sleep” mattress. If any one has any thoughts on either one, I’d appreciate any input. Thanks, Bob
The Evolution would probably be my choice strictly from a durability and long-term support standpoint. Latex tends to hold its shape and resilience much better over time than most memory foams, and many people find it sleeps cooler and stays more supportive after years of use. With the nano coils and hybrid design, it sounds like a really solid setup for a side sleeper who still wants pressure relief without sacrificing support. At those price points, I’d personally lean toward the mattress that’s more likely to maintain its comfort and structure long term.
That said, latex and the Serene Sleep foam are definitely different feels, so I’d be careful not to choose based on materials alone. Latex usually has a more buoyant, responsive feel where you sleep like you are more “on top" of the mattress, while the Serene Sleep’s gel memory foam will likely feel softer, more contouring, and give that deeper “hug” around the shoulders and hips. Some people absolutely love latex right away, while others strongly prefer the pressure-relieving feel of memory foam. If possible, I’d spend extra time laying on both in your normal sleep position before deciding.
You would want to spend about 20-30 minutes on each in the showroom to see how you feel between the two mattresses. The 5 or 10 minute test is not going to give your body enough time to determine what it is going to be like over night. Even the longer test will not offer that precisely, but you will get a little better sense of how you feel on the surface of the mattress.
Nothing beats 45-90 days on a mattress.
Keep in mind that the selection your foundation is going to be a critical component. You do not want to skimp in that area as a poor foundation can sink the entire project.
Again not to say that, memory foam is automatically bad, but it will be a different experience longer term then the 10 minute test.
The evolution looks like a good bed. Website says base spring then nanocoil springs then latex and memory foam on top. The latex under the memory foam will give a bit more responsive feel to the surface. I’ve always liked latex in combination with memory foam.
