Hi jmprstop1.

Welcome to our Mattress Forum.

I’m so sorry to hear about your experience on the DreamCloud Premier Rest Hybrid. It sounds incredibly painful and frustrating. :disappointed: Thank you for sharing so much detail; it’s really helpful.

What do you think happened between the first and 5th night? What changed?

Given your sleeper profile/statistics, a few things stand out:

  • Too much soft foam can definitely cause you to “bottom out” into the layers below, creating painful pressure points — especially for higher BMI sleepers.
  • Coil quality matters a lot: lower-gauge, stronger coils with proper edge and center support can help avoid the bruising and hammocking you’ve experienced.
  • A firmer, more resilient surface (perhaps latex or a high-density, firmer foam comfort layer) over strong coils might be a better fit for you than lots of soft memory foam or deep pillowtops.
  • Zoning in a mattress (softer at shoulders, firmer at hips) might also be helpful for balancing support and comfort without causing crater-like sagging.

We usually recommend checking out our Mattress Durability Guidelines (especially important for higher BMIs) and Trusted Members who offer more customizable options so you’re not stuck trying random beds that aren’t designed for your needs.

Please don’t lose hope! There are mattresses that could work much better for you.

Wishing you relief and restful nights ahead.
