DIY Build: Recommendations? Warnings?

Stats: 6’0, 190lbs (low bodyfat %)

Side / Stomach sleeper (60/40 estimated)

Proposed build (top to bottom):

Comfort: 2" Talalay 19ILD

Transition: 3" Dunlop 28ILD

Support: 3" Dunlop 38ILD

I chose the 2" comfort layer to accommodate my stomach sleeping.

Additionally, my hope is that this build comes out to a ‘medium’ firmness as a whole, with a fairly soft comfort layer (decent amount of sink).

Any recommendations/warnings? Thank you for your time!

Hi Alakowski.

Welcome to our Mattress Forum.

Thanks for sharing your proposed build and stats.

This was my first question - it makes sense! I don’t think your transition layer is so firm that you’ll suffer on your side with a 2" layer.

I think chances are high that you’ll achieve this with the ILDs and thicknesses you’ve chosen. No recommendations or warning for you here. We have a great group of experienced DIYers here who may have additional two cents to add though
