Diy Latex Mattress Help: All Talalay

Hello,

I purchased a layers for a diy mattress a few months ago and have been struggling to find the right setup. I seem to be uncomfortable no matter what order I put the layers in. I’m a back sleeper.

Currently my setup from top to bottom is:

3" Talalay Firm(38 ILD)
3" Talalay Med(32 ILD)
3" Talalay Med(32 ILD)

I also have a 2" Talalay Soft(ILD) topper that I took off because it felt too soft.

I’ve tried every configuration possible with what I currently have and my feeling is that it’s still too soft. Currently I’m getting pain in my mid to upper back. It feels like my lower body is sinking in nicely, but my upper back is having to bend too far back or something.

If I put the mediums on top or add the 2" soft topper, then it feels like my mid back is rounding and causing pain that way.

I was thinking of buying an x-firm Dunlop to go under the firm to see if that makes it better.

I know it’s hard to diagnose over the internet, but any help or insight would be appreciated!

Hi Byronsleeps.

As you mentioned, it’s difficult to diagnose much over the internet.

Have you considered removing the bottom layer and putting 6" of the construction directly on the floor to see how that feels?
