Do all king (eastern) latex mattresses necessarily come split in two pieces

Do all king (eastern) latex mattresses necessarily come split in two pieces? Or, are there any king sized latex mattresses that come in one piece? I guess I’m more concerned about the top layers, but would be curious about the core layers as well.

If they are split, are they glued together? I assume it depends on the seller, but I’d rather not have them glued together. But, I worry about being able to feel the split in the middle. Does anyone have first hand experience with this issue? Thanks.

Hi gus1gus1,

There are many king size mattresses that have individual layers that come in one piece rather than having a “split” construction. One piece layers are probably more common than having split layers which is an option that isn’t offered by most manufacturers in the industry.

With most manufacturers that offer this they would be individual so that one side or the other could be exchanged but it can vary with each manufacturer. There is more about the pros and cons of split layering in post #2 here.
