Do Expensive Mattresses Really Make a Difference?

Hey everyone,
I have been thinking about upgrading my mattress but the price range is wild β€” from $300 to over $3000.

Is it really worth spending big on a mattress? Or are the budget ones just as good with the right topper?

Would love to hear your experience.

I think it depends. Some questions to ask yourself:

  1. What kind of materials am I looking for (or doesn’t it matter)?

  2. How long do I want the mattress to last?

  3. Do I need customization of any kind (by side or by zone).

  4. How much support do you need?

Those types of things are factors influencing the price of a mattress. Someone who needs support, wants natural materials, and is looking to keep the mattress for 15-20 years would need to pay more.

There are videos online where people cut into a mattress that has been used for a year or two and it shows the degradation of materials - some materials are just more long-lasting and durable than others.

Personally, I have found it to make a big difference and having a comfortable mattress that supports me well is worth the price.

Define expensive.

Here is something really expensive. Not being rested everyday and losing 2-3 hours of productivity due to a bad mattress.

I think most people should spend at least $2500 or more for a good mattress.

People have no problem spending $75k on a new they barely use, but then they freak out when they must spend $3300 on a great mattress. Its really wild.

Hi @duckket313, we have been crafting mattresses for nearly four decades and I can tell you that the investment in your mattress from a reputable mattress maker will make a difference. There are vast differences in the quality of the inputs, from the gauge of steel used in the innersprings to the density and longevity of the foam layers. The mattress industry has made some significant leaps in technology recently and there are so many different types of foams available now.

An investment in a quality mattress should reduce the number of mattresses that you buy over your lifetime (not to mention greatly improving your quality of life with good rest!). It is also better for the environment, as mattresses are one of the largest landfill items.

Finding a mattress manufacturer that provides excellent customer services (such as comfort adjustments post purchase) will help ensure your investment results in the right mattress for you!

We welcome you to shop our mattress collection online and email us with any questions you may have at [email protected].

Good luck!
