Do you own a Back Science mattress?

Anyone own a Back Science mattress? If so, please share your experiences!

I actually just ordered the back science series 3 bed a couple days ago. I kinda ordered it on impulse. Now I trying to find real user reviews to make me feel better about my purchase but reviews for this mattress (outside of the back science website) are far and few in between. I thought I would find more here. Using the search function I think I’ve read every post related to the back science mattress. I think @BillyIdol might be the only person who has purchased and actually commented about the mattress. Yep, “Perfect spinal alignment while laying on a soft cloud.” That sounds encouraging but is there more than one person on this website that owns this mattress and doesn’t work for Back Science? And, I’ve obviously read all the posts made by @BackScience.

I wake up with horrible back pain in the mid/upper lumbar area every morning. It goes away after I get out of bed and move around for about 15 minutes. Not really any back pain all day long until I wake up in pain again the next morning. It’s been going on for over 6 months. I used to be able to sleep 8-9 hours a night but this back pain is my new alarm clock. It forces me out of bed after 6-7 hours. I replaced the foam layers on my current sleep number bed with talalay latex layers. It didn’t help. It doesn’t matter if I adjust the firmness to hard or soft or in between. I used the mattress checker app. It doesn’t look too bad but I rotate between back and side sleeping. I’ve had surgery on both shoulders so a bed that is really firm hurts my shoulders. My wife has hip pain when she sleeps on her side which is her preferred position. I’ve tried other mattresses in my house and nothing helps. This is why I gave up on the problem being the mattress… Until, this past weekend I spend the night at a hotel on a Simmons BeautyRest Plush mattress and was shocked that I woke up 95+% pain free on that mattress. I got so excited that I could sleep without waking up in pain! Hence the impulse buy! Maybe I should’ve just purchased that mattress but somehow stumbled upon Back Science. I do find some comfort in the 365 in home trial…

Hi Stealle.

I don’t own a Back Science mattress but I did some digging on Reddit and feel like these two threads (one and two) speak quite comprehensively to the experience!

I actually started out on Reddit and saw those. I reached out to the couple people that purchased them to see how they like the mattress after using it for awhile. Never heard back. Thanks I appreciate it tho!

Stealle,

I think you will accidentally be delighted with BackScience 3. I have the BS2. The spinal support is out of this world. I think the section where you hips sink in is the most important part of the mattress and that is where BackScience excels. The BS3 is so plush!

I am sort of heavy 235 pounds and 5 11. BS2 is a luxury firm. I think most people will like the BS2 or 3.

The hypergel seems of high quality and is actually quite cool.

I think the idea that “BackScience is only for people with back pain” is totally wrong. Everyone needs lumbar support!

If you found relief in a mass produced plush hotel mattress, I think you will be tickled pink with the BS3.

When do you receive your BS3?

Well, that’s what I figured… If that was good, surely a “back science” mattress must be better.” I’ve stayed in several hotels over the past 6 months and always woke up with back pain. That’s why I gave up on the idea that my mattress was the problem. I’ve literally woke up with back pain every single day for months with the exception of that one night last weekend. Surely it wasn’t a fluke :man_shrugging:

I have no idea when I’ll get the mattress. I ordered it on Memorial Day.
