Don't forget to update your bedding!

So you put a lot of thought into buying your most recent mattress…but when’s the last time you were as thoughtful about upgrading your bedding? It’s a detail that often gets missed, despite the fact that the layers closest to your skin determine a lot about your temperature and comfort.

I’ve been a big fan of @BalooLiving for updating bedding lately because they take a refreshing, natural approach to a category usually dominated by synthetics, extending that philosophy well beyond just blankets.

Most weighted blankets on the market rely on polyester batting and plastic pellets, which often leads to the “sweltering” heat trap that ruins sleep (at least for me). Baloo handles this differently by using 100% cotton and silent glass microbeads. This construction allows for effective “Deep Pressure Touch” (which can help calm the nervous system and lower cortisol) without trapping heat and putting you in a weighted blanket sauna.

They also offer a weighted comforter that drapes like a traditional blanket but provides that same grounding sensation for those who prefer a more cohesive bed setup.

Their Stonewashed Linen sheets and pillowcases use European Flax, which is naturally moisture-wicking and great for year-round temperature regulation. Since they use vegetable-based dyes and avoid harsh chemical finishes, the material stays breathable and is safer for people with sensitive skin.

They also offer a range of targeted accessories that support the same goal of a calm nervous system, such as their mulberry silk Sleep Stone Mask and New Zealand wool dryer balls.

What stands out to me about their business model is the lack of “greenwashing.” They maintain a carbon-neutral footprint and use plastic-free packaging, which is rare in the bedding industry. Every component is Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified, ensuring it has been tested for harmful substances. They also focus on social impact through the Pajama Program, which helps provide sleep essentials to children facing housing instability. It’s a transparent, mission-driven way to run a company that aligns well with the focus on integrity we prioritize here.

Thank you so much for the shoutout @NikkiTMU !
We offer linen bedding in addition to our cotton blankets because I am personally a huge fan of linen, and we have truly the best quality. I believe it because friends replace their $1000+ sets of sheets with ours and then say it’s even better! We’re not even half of that price. i’m here and happy to answer questions about linen or weighted blankets for that matter, if any come up!

The Baloo Linen set is one of the most comfortable, softest, most relaxing to sleep on.

I always thought cotton was king. And cotton is quite awesome. Baloo’s linen was a welcomed eye opener. The pillowcases help me sleep more peacefully. I guess you really shouldn’t knock it until you try it. They wash and dry quite well too.
