Dreamfoam Ultimate Dream Eurotop

Hi Squeaky,

Thanks for the update :).

The 19 ILD is probably a little softer than most people of your weight would normally choose but each person is unique and if you do choose to try it I hope you have the chance to share your feedback.

You would also have the option of trying the 19 on top of your current mattress and the combination would be softer than either one by itself but there would also be a higher risk of alignment issues with that much soft latex in the upper layers of your sleeping system. Regardless of “theory” though … your experience will be the best way to know how well it works for you.

I certainly wouldn’t go any softer than 19 ILD at your weight.

Received the Dream foam ultimate dreams cushion firm latex mattress in queen about 3 weeks ago. It is more than I expected. Supportive while being very comfortable. I won’t say that every pain I had is gone, but the ones that apparently came from my old mattresss are noticeably gone. I do believe I will order the all latex mattress from brooklyn bedding. I am very excited, we have to furnish a 2nd home and this one was a trial (success). I am in hopes that the full latex will be even more than this one.
Just wanted to let you guys know, and I really thank MU for all the assistance I received.

Hi wbandrh,

Congratulations on your new mattress

You certainly made a great quality/value choice and it sounds like you picked the best comfort level for you as well.

Thanks for letting us know what you ended up deciding and for your update.

It is time to replace my old mattress. Read a lot about DreamFoam on Amazon, however, it is kind of different to decide between this
https://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Dreams-Latex-Mattress-Comfort/dp/B0051AQXZK/ref=sr_1_12?s=furniture&ie=UTF8&qid=1399833282&sr=1-12&keywords=king+mattress
and the Eurotop option https://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Dreams-Eurotop-Latex-Mattress/dp/B008KQ8YZO/ref=sr_1_1?s=furniture&ie=UTF8&qid=1399833282&sr=1-1&keywords=king+mattress.
Just wondering whether spending extra $250 is worthwhile.
Do you know how much to buy a replacement latex (not exchange) assuming after a few years we need a new latex top?
Please help.

Hi jiqiangxia,

All the mattresses made by the same manufacturer would be in a similar “value” range based on the cost of materials so from a material point of view any of their mattresses would be “worth it”.

Having said that … the most important part of the “value” of a mattress purchase is how well it matches your specific needs and preferences in terms of PPP. No matter what the cost or quality of a mattress … if it’s not a good match for you and you don’t sleep well on it then it would have little value to you.

The biggest difference between the two mattresses is that with the Eurotop you can customize the mattress both before and after your purchase with a layer exchange if you need a softer or firmer comfort layer while with the Ultimate Dreams you can only choose the firmness of your comfort layer when you order it and you can’t change it after a purchase.

As you mentioned … a top layer that you can remove and replace also allows you to make changes to the mattress years down the road if you need to without having to replace the entire mattress.

Which one would be the best “value” for you would depend on the parts of your personal value equation that are most important to you and how confident you feel that the initial comfort choice you make will end up being the one that is best for you.

Both mattresses would make very good quality/value choices but one may be better “value” for you regardless of whether someone else may make a different choice because their criteria or confidence level was different from yours.

It depends on which type of latex, the size you are looking at, and where you buy it from but you can source the prices of a range of 3" latex layers in the component post here. Just as a single example … you can see Dreamfoam’s price for a 3" Talalay topper here.

Hi Phoenix,

Thanks in large part to the information on this site, I just purchased this mattress! I have been sleeping on a terribly cheap mattress for way too long. It has visible dents and I can’t lie in the middle without rolling to one of the dents made by me or my wife (both sub-160lbs). Figured it was about time to move on. We debated between this and the Casper, ultimately settling on this due to the ability to switch out the firmness top layer, and the fact that they have been around longer and have more reviews of durability/longevity from long-term owners.

Looking forward to receiving it next week! Will keep you posted on how we like it after it gets here.

Thanks again for all your information!

Appreciate all of the information here, also having a hard time deciding between the eurotop & bamboo bliss, but I love the option to change out a layer since we are also having a hard time deciding on level 5 or 6.

Hi eminnick,

You may have seen this but just in case you haven’t … post #16 here may be helpful.

Just over two years on this mattress-its still a winner! Decided to stay with this one and not go with the latex. So happy!

Hi wbandrh,

Thanks for taking the time to come back after two years and share an update with us.

It’s great to hear that your mattress worked out so well for you :).
