DreamFoam Ultimate Dreams 13" Gel Memory Foam Mattress longevity

I am considering purchasing the DreamFoam Ultimate Dreams 13" Gel Memory Foam Mattress from Amazon.com. I contacted R&S, and Chuck said that they use Carpenter Gel-infused 4 lb. foam in the top layer and 5 lb.in the next layer, but I haven’t been able to find anything conclusive on the relative quality of these foams. I am curious what a reasonable expectation would be on the lifetime of this mattress. Could I reasonably expect 5 years without noticeable degradation of the foam, or impressions being created? I am replacing a Simmons Black that has significant body impressions after 6 years, so want to balance cost and longevity on this purchase.

Both of these are good quality materials and since the comfort layers are the weak link of a mattress it would be reasonable to expect more than 5 years from it yes. These are higher quality materials that you would typically find in even a higher end Simmons mattress. The materials in the Brooklyn Bedding mattresses in their price range are one of the reasons I consider them to be among the best quality/value in the country and why they were invited to be a member of this site.

The durability of a mattress though depends as much on the person sleeping on it and their body type and sleeping style as on the materials, construction, or layering in the mattress itself. I too have been researching new mattresses and have been led to the ultimate dreams mattress as a mattress that uses high quality foam and is affordable. Thank you for all of the information you’ve provided on your website. It was very helpful in sorting thru the bazillion choices out there!
