Hello, in the market for a new mattress in the Saskatchewan area and have been interested in a local potential purchase from dreamstar, the mattress name is the ultraviolet latex which is basically a variation of the midnight comfort latex, I tried asking for information about the foam densities but unfortunately was not able to get an answer.
Does anyone own this mattress or another dreamstar? Im looking at them from a durability standpoint, or if anyone would have any other good options for a solid firm mattress in the SK area id appreciate it.
Dreamstar makes some good quality/value mattresses and I would certainly consider them on a “mattress by mattress” basis. A forum search on Dreamstar (you can just click the link) will bring up more comments and feedback about some of their mattresses as well (although I don’t think that there are any comments about either of the specific mattresses you’ve mentioned). The Dreamstar site doesn’t give specific specifications for the foam densities, but in the past site members here have had success with acquiring that information from Dreamstar. If you’re able to do so, feel free to post back here and I’ll be happy to comment upon those specifications.
Regarding Saskatchewan, that’s a bit of a large area, but you can perform a forum search on Saskatchewan or any other area and see what other businesses have been discussed in that region which may be helpful to you.
So I’ve pretty much narrowed my search to two mattresses
The first is the dreamstar midnight comfort or the century latex
It seems the main difference between the two is the midnight comfort has a quilted top with some extra foam, however the midnight also has a 15 yr warranty in comparison to the 10 yr of the century, my concern is the more foam more likely to sag in time?
You’d want to acquire information about the density of the polyfoams used in the mattresses you’re comparing, and you’d also want to know if the latex in each mattress was Talalay or Dunlop, or if it is natural or blended, for sake of comparison.
Find out the information listed here so you can compare the quality of the materials and components to the durability guidelines here to make sure there are no lower quality materials or weak links in either of these mattresses.
If you’re able to find out that information feel free to post it back here I can provide further commentary.
