Hi JFKinDC,
Dunlopillo is a brand name for latex mattresses that in North America is owned by Latex International (the same as Pure Latex Bliss). The first manufacturer to use it (see post #2 here).
The Dunlopillo mattresses at Urban Mattress would be made by Sherwood Bedding (see this article) using latex made by Latex International.
They should be able to provide you with the “quality specs” such as the type and blend of the layers in the mattress (see this article) … but they may not provide you with the “comfort specs” (such as ILD) since the ILD of the layers are not important to know when you are testing a mattress locally and aren’t relevant to the quality of the materials.
I would always make sure you are able to find out the specifics of the materials inside any mattress before you buy it so that you can identify any potential weak links in the design and make more meaningful comparisons with other mattresses.
I would also encourage you to make sure you test any mattress you are considering with both of you on the mattress (following the testing guidelines in the tutorial post) since a second person on the mattress can change how it feels to sleep on.
It may be an idea to suggest that if he can “sleep on anything” and doesn’t wish to be involved in buying something that will have a more significant effect on your overall wellbeing than almost anything else you will purchase in the next decade or so then perhaps the floor or the sofa would work well for him (just joking of course :))
