First-time poster here, and I just want to start by saying a big thank you to the forum and TMU—this has been such an eye-opening experience for me. I honestly never thought I’d be able to DIY my own mattress!
So, I decided to go with a full latex 9" king mattress, which I’ll be assembling from two Twin XL pieces so it can work with an adjustable king bed with a split head. Now, I’m on the hunt for a split king encasement. Specifically, I mean a solid, zippered cover that usually goes for around $300-$400.
I’ve checked out the websites of the trusted members but couldn’t find anything that fits the bill. When I searched online, all I could find were thin covers that aren’t zipped.
Does anyone have recommendations for where I could get a zippered split king encasement? Maybe some of the trusted members offer them custom-made?
One more thing—I specifically don’t want to go with two separate Twin XL covers. I can’t stand that gap in the middle, and it makes it feel like my wife and I are sleeping in different beds
You should check with DreamFit sheets. I first came to know them during the Las Vegas Market trade show. Skeptical at first, I am a super big fan now. I got a set for my mattress and my MiLaw’s DLX Premier Hybrid/Yawnder4 adjustable base combo and these sheets couldn’t be better. They wash and dry easily, they say to use cold water. They fit perfect and stay on the mattress.
As far as a split head king, they make 3 different mattress protectors in a split king.
Unfortunately, I did not see a 360 split head king encasement, but their protectors should do the trick. I would also contact them just in case they might have a 360 split head king encasement in the works.
I will reach out to my contact there and ask him if one is in the works or currently exists, but for now, their split king protector should work just fine.

EDIT: Spoke with dreamfit. They do make a split head king encasement. It is just out of stock right now. I would recommend you get one of their split head king protectors, and check back for when their split head king encasement comes back in stock.
Hi Maverick, thank you very much for the information, it’s incredibly helpful. I’ll follow your suggestion and get the cover first, then contact DreamFit for the encasement. In the meantime, I’ll have the opportunity to determine if the 9” setup is suitable so I can ensure the encasement is correct.
