Last Friday I ordered a mattress and foundation from SleepEZ it should be here Thursday. Shawn is great to order from it went out same day as ordered.
Two weeks ago I started reading posts from the very beginning at page 172 averaging 2 or 3 per page just too fill gaps in my understanding. Something that especially caught my attention was your mentioning T-slats which prompted my inspecting the ones under my bed. I have a standard type bed with rails connecting the headboard and footboard with 5 slats supporting the springs and mattress. The springs rest on the very ends of the slats but they were bowed terribly from their own weight and would never support a foundation properly. So yesterday I brought home some poplar boards and today built 5 T slats following the plans I found on TMU. Yup glued and screwed they should hold up fine.
If not for this site I would have never thought to check my slats. It would have been a major bind to tear down my bed and not be able to proceed with my new one, thank you.
As you know I think you ended up making a great quality/value choice.

I may have undiagnosed OCD but it was enjoyable reading learning and hearing peoples experiences with your level suggestions.
The only question I had, would I like latex? So I purchased a latex topper to find out. It greatly improved my old mattress but I realized it was only a band aid. After reading almost every post concerning SleepEZ I’m confident that my experience will be positive.

I feel fortunate having discovered the plans. It was a satisfying project as I embellished the design with a bevel to the ends of the of the bottom boards which improved the appearance and should eliminate busted knuckles while cleaning. And with 6 - 2 1/2" screws with glue in each queen size T-slat they should endure about anything.
I would think an enterprising individual could make a small business constructing these for purchase. Maybe substitute laminate for the expensive poplar to offset shipping costs. hmmm
