Wondering if I could pick your brain about shipping compression of latex layers and the damage done to the product: I purchased 4 - 3" layers of Radium NR Vita Talalay X-Firm (Approx.44ILD), and they’ve been sitting in their compressed (vacuumed) state for about a month. A moving situation has occurred and I’ve needed to put off assembling the mattress. As of now, how much damage do you think has resulted from the intense compression these layers are under? I realize it’s not a thing that I could visually inspect, but I’m wondering if the cell integrity of the latex may have be undermined…even if just a little from 30 days in that constricted state. This mattress is for a 375+lbs person and I’m worried I may have already compromised my investment. Do you think FoamSweetFoam’s Dunlop XX-Firm (46ILD) would’ve been the better (for the bottom 2 layers) bet at 375+lbs?
Talalay latex is very durable and will hold up very well to compression over even much longer periods of time than a month so while there may be a slight reduction in firmness (which would also be the case with shorter term compression as well) I would have no concerns in terms of durability or the integrity of the latex.
