Hi, I am verynew here but have been reading until my head is exploding. I live in St. Petersburg, fl and at 79 with degenerative bone disease and arthritis aplenty, I believe I am interested in a latex core mattress and wonder if there are any recommended manufacturers or small shops in this area, could be the Tampa Bay Area, which is quite large but never-the-less, I am willing and eager to find a new home for my back. Waking up in the morning is fine but getting out of bed and to the coffee pot is a chore; bent over in pain. Any suggestions??

I’m very sorry to hear about your low back issues and the health issues that you are experiencing so with that in mind, you’d definitely want to make sure that whatever you choose has very good deep down support to promote a more neutral alignment. The two basic functions of a mattress are to provide support/alignment and then comfort, and between the two I’ll recommend to defer first toward support. This is described a bit more in the basic functions of a mattress here …in general lower back pains in the morning are associated with lack of support and a PPP mismatch (Pressure Relief, Posture and alignment, and Personal preference)
I agree with latexmatttressfactory that the safest way to see if you like the feel of an all latex mattress would be to visit a showroom and test a few of them personally.
