Faithfull recreation!

I’m exploring some different options here. I know that recreations often aren’t recommended, but I’m curious to here some thoughts. I really love the Urban Mattress Camellia (Bloom Archives - Urban Mattress Boulder) but I can’t get in with the price. I know the microcoils are what is really making me like the feel, as I didn’t like the other Urban Mattress models without the microcoils. I’d love a slightly softer Camellia. Anyway, I’d love to hear your thoughts. For reference I’m 5’11 and 175 pounds looking for a King!

All in this is $1300, with the original being $3400. I can also get a clearance Camille for $2100 (slept on for less than hundred days, Warranty still applies). So I’m wondering if the risk of DIY is even worth it.

I’d love some thoughts!

Hi CocoNixi.

In my opinion, a DIY is always worth the risk (if you’re up for it!). As you’ve already noticed, you can create a custom bed for far less than the sticker tag on some of these other brands.

I will say, instead of approximating the feel of the Camellia, it’s more important to focus on building your best bed, even if ultimately the materials stray a little from what’s similar to the Camellia. That said, you have an incredibly solid starting point.

I’ll be interested to hear your thoughts on the feel once it’s put together.
