My husband and I currently have a generic memory foam bed 9 inches on top of box springs. We have a gel topper. The bed would not be bad if it wasn’t sinking. So now we are looking for a new bed my husband weighs 230 and I 264 we both are 6 feet tall, we are combo side and back sleepers sometimes on the stomach. We are looking at the Sleep EZ Hybrid latex or purple mattress. The sleep ez is more around our budget. We both like firm but not so firm it kills the back but soft enough that you snuggle in with support. What are your suggestions? Thank you in advance

Latex is excellent for all sized sleepers and does very well for plus sized.
The video demonstrates what happens to the purple grid over short term use and not necessarily plus sized sleepers.
We could go into a long discussion about why this happens, but natural latex would be the preferred material for most folks.
There are some folks who like the purple, but not necessarily for it longevity. More of a marketing capture than anything else.
That grid was initially designed for short term use in hospitals for burn and accident victims. Then adapted for mattresses. It really has not proven itself as a long term solution for most people.

Yes. This is what I found in my short research. I believe we will purchase from Sleep EZ. I’m just concerned that the hybrid is going to be enough for our weight? I just don’t want to spend so much money on the purchase and trying to do returns.

@Sleep_EZ are very good at fitting folks. Even via phone they are over 90% successful if not more. If you work with them, you will be fine.

Actually, we recently changed coils to a VERY durable, and high quality set of coils. They’re firmer and actually perfectly fine for folks up to 300 pounds! The only thing is, you’d likely do best with a medium top layer instead a soft top layer. If you’re ordering the Sleep EZ Hybrid in king size or cal king, there would be any extra charge for that and you can just request a medium top layer in the comments section at checkout. If you’re ordering a queen size or smaller, there would be a $100 custom mattress charge, and you would have to place the order over the phone because our website isn’t equipped to handle that charge.

You are amazing for responding. That was my biggest fear. I will call customer service to help. I was concerned with some of the reviews saying that the layers were too firm and had to be changed several times. I don’t mind paying the extra if I am working on not returning it. I hate returns and hate wasting money. Also one other concern. I was hit by a drunk driver in July and still going through PT, my shoulder and back was severely injured also my husband has rotator cuffs has tears so he is in pain a lot. Will the hybrid make these injuries worse?

Honestly, you might do better with Talalay for the top layer instead of Dunlop, which would come with an extra upcharge as well, but please give us a call and ask for me (Rodger) and I’ll do my best to get you a good deal on that. I recommend Talalay for you because it’s going to be much better at pressure relief on your injured shoulder than Dunlop would be.
