Good afternoon. After a delay with Fedex, we finally had our first night of sleep on the new latex mattressfrom DIY Mattress last night. We decided to purchase the 10" with bottom layer of firm dunlop, middle layer of talalay medium, top layer of talalay soft, cotton & wool cover & had all layers split to be able to adjust the firmness. My thought also was we can always convert to two twins if we choose to split the mattresses. We also ordered a new split king (synced as one) adjustable base from Sams to replace our queen size adjustable base. DIY Mattress threw in a shredded latex pillow which is very comfortable. Anyway, I had some of the best sleep last night which was the first night sleeping on the new latex mattress. I will give it a week or two before making any adjustments if needed. So far, very happy & saved a ton of money thanks to the TMU! I highly recommend DIYmattress.com & try out a latex mattress locally if you are in the market for a mattress.

The setup with the split layers is a great idea for customization, and the option to potentially convert to two twins later is always a fall back. Sleeping well on a new mattress can make such a difference, and it’s smart to give it a little time, I recommend 30 days, before making adjustments.

Day 10 Update. We are loving the latex bed & now look forward to going to sleep every night. In fact, we find our selves going to bed early to enjoy the comfort. Going from a queen to king also gave us the additional space which I think helps. Also, the latex pillow from DIY Mattress & CST are game changers. We had no idea we would end up on a latex mattress when we started shopping, but I am glad we did. Thanks again TMU!
