After A long period of “researching”, we finally purchased a latex mattress. I have been reading the mattress underground boards for at least two years and looking at all of the members sites to shop for a latex mattress. We have also traveled to a few stores to get a feel for latex. I am posting to share with others who have gone and are going through this process now. I will get to the facts right away for those who don’t want to read a long post. And follow with the rest…
We purchase the 7" Natural Comfort Kiss mattress from Cozy Pure. King. It came with a La Noodle Topper and 2 La Noodle pillows. We purchased the mattress protector and king sateen sheets. After one night I can say that so far is all my hard work and agonizing over what to buy was all worth it. All of the products seem very well made. Even the way it was packaged made it seem as though they really take pride in their product.
Part of the reason I wanted to share my experience is because we decided to purchase a 7 inch mattress. It is such a hard decision with all of the options out there for buying. We were able to try several mattresses of varying thickness and decided that we were satisfied with the feel of the 7 inch mattress and therefore did not feel the need to spend the extra money on a thicker mattress. We did not actually get to try the one we ordered, but ordered based on what we thought would be similar on the Cozy Pure site. Yes, cost was a part of the equation and decision making. Knowing we could still add another layer to this mattress if we decide we need more cushioning helped with our decision. Hans from Cozy Pure confirmed this.
The La Noodle topper is downright beautiful. Laugh you may, but you have to see it. The fabric and the way it is hand-tied is just really nice quality. The feel of it is unbelievable as well. It really does feel like you are laying on a cloud. I decided to put it under the mattress protector instead of just the sheet to see if that would work well that way. I am hoping that that will protect it since I did not buy a duvet for it. So far so good.
The mattress protector seems to be of the same fabric as the matress ticking and the pillow covering. It is a nice thickness and well made. The king pillows were included and they are big and cushy. The sheets are very nice and I like that they are organic.
Now a little more about the shopping process. I was attracted to the Cozy Pure mattress from the beginning. At that time they did not have the natural comfort kiss mattress available. Since offering this mattress it became closer to what I wanted to spend on a mattress. Also last year at this time they were offering the free La Noodle Topper with a mattress purchase. I was not prepared at that time to order a latex mattress since I had not seen the mattress in person. I continue to shop all of the different sites over the last year and visit stores and was finally able to pull the trigger. Cozy Pure was having a sale that interested me. They were offering a free wool comforter with purchase. I had given up hope that they would be having a free topper special again and was about to order my mattress. That sale was ending and I could not push the button to purchase. When I went on the next day there was the new sale with the free topper and I could not order fast enough. I believe all along that what kept bringing me back to the Cozy Pure site was what seemed like their commitment to organic products and that topper. I felt comfortable ordering the 7 inch mattress knowing that I would have the topper for cushioning.
This purchase also included a search for a platform bed. I found it difficult to find a bed with the proper number of slats. We are trying to squeeze our new king bed into a small space so we could not have a huge piece of furniture. I was surprised how difficult it was to find a platform bed with slats in a local store. We ended up ordering a bed online and making our room in to a “BED” room. We plan to have it for a long time and will be sure to buy our next place with a bigger bedroom.

I didnt get a mattress underground dicount even though I requested it in my order. Maybe because my mattress was already on sale.
Lastly, my reasons for seeking out a latex/natural mattress and bedding was to cut back on alergans, and chemicals, and to replace an 8ish year old Beautyrest mattress that I was never 100 % happy with and has just become less and less comfortable for me.
