It’s been three years of lurking, reading, and saving our pennies to buy our first latex mattress. I’d like to thank the mattress industry for multiple crappy mattresses, pillow tops, memory foam toppers, and featherbeds to help us arrive at today!
On a not so sarcastic note, a genuine thank you to Pheonix and everyone who takes the time to post input here!
My three finalists came down to Cozypure, Flexus Comfort, and Savvy Rest. My better half really likes soft, so Talalay was a requirement after testing some options. We didn’t have a chance to visit Cozypure which could have made our decision different, but didn’t want to risk the Dunlop not being soft enough. I still hope to buy some of their other products because it all looks amazing. Savvy Rest was a great place to try options since it was local, but could not justify the price against Flexus Comfort. I’d pay more to support a local vendor, but not double. I’ve never tested the Flexus, so let’s keep our fingers crossed that the latex types we have tested are indeed similar.
We went with two layers of Dunlop on the bottom for support, we had each layer cut in two to give us options in case we need to swap something, and the top layer is one piece of soft Talalay.
I was trying to think of a post to give back to the community. I figured pictures of the Flexus Comfort unboxing might be the best contribution I could make since I hadn’t come across too many pictures in my research. Our new bed frame hasn’t arrived, so we’re currently sleeping on the floor…
UPS dropped off three large boxes:
Took the latex layers out…
Put the mattress cover down…
Put the first piece down…
The first layer is in…
Put the second layer in…
Put the final layer on…
Let’s zip up that cover…
Time for a nap…
