Flipping a tuft and needle foam mattress

First night on a tuft and needle foam mattress. As soon as it was ready, I laid on the mattress. I’m very impressed. My wife and I bought this, after a recommendation from a family member. The company doesn’t recommend flipping the mattress. They say it’s not needed. However, I’m wondering of anyone has found the need to flip it?

As there are different foam layers on the top and bottom I’d think that you would get a different “feel” if you flipped it. For those kinds of mattresses I just rotate it 180 degrees.

There is no advantage to flipping it.

Our foam core has been designed to have a specific top and bottom. Always keep the zippered side down.

Hi The real Elvis,

As the other members indicated … the Tuft & Needle is a one sided mattress that isn’t designed to be flipped because the comfort layers are only on one side of the mattress only so not only does it “not need” to be flipped … it shouldn’t be flipped at all.

In an emergency you could flip it if you absolutely needed to (if something happened to the top sleeping surface that made it unsuitable to sleep on) but you would be sleeping on the firm support core that isn’t designed to be a sleeping surface and you would most likely need a topper to replace the comfort layers that would be on the bottom of the mattress. The bottom layer is also 1.8 lb polyfoam that wouldn’t be as durable as the 2.8 lb comfort layers.
