I took the outlast cover off it and replaced it with a top quality wool topper. There is absolutely no indentation as yet after 3 years use. I cant have a super soft bed as i am slim framed.
Im in Australia and am limited for choice. Is an inch of coir enough for ventilation? is coir a good material to use because it allows air to enter from the side of the bed? Will it change the comfort level? What is the importance of having the coir impregnated with latex?
One inch of coir is generally sufficient, unless you are in a humid environment, desire extra circulation, or plan on placing the mattress upon the floor in the future, then 2" is recommended by many manufacturers. Coir is a good material as it is natural, durable, relatively waterproof, and the latex adhesive helps keep the product pliable, yet firm. It will not change the comfort of your mattress, as the bed rug is firm.
My concern here is the amount of breathability along the side with this weave, and each sunsequent semi-concentric “bead” that the air would have to go through. The coir would allow for quite a bit more air circulation. I think that you would get some extra air circulation using these matts, but you may wish to use two layers, and I’m unfamiliar with the durability of these and their potential to flatten over time.

If i could trouble you for another minute of your time. Trying to geta bed rug sent from the US is proving problematic as is trying to source a chinese supplier. Im gonna have to improvise.
Mind giving me a quick run down on these as alternatives?

The primary purpose of the latex adhesive with the coir is to keep the coir in place and also allow for some flexibility and stiffness.
Out of the options you selected, the products from Bunnings don’t have much integrity and their breathability isn’t what you’d desire. The product from matworld would be a much better alternative, but I wouldn’t want the solid vinyl backing layer on the bottom (order unbacked as what you linked to), as that would be a layer that would not be breathable. Basically, that mat would be a synthetic version of the coir bed rug. If you could find something like that which would be affordable, that should work well for you.
