Foam Mattress Topper 4lb Density vs 5lb - For shoulder pain

Hi All,

I currently have a firm latex mattress from: https://bedroomsandmore.com/products/mattresses/innerspring-mattresses/organic-woodland-park-mattress/https://bedroomsandmore.com/products/mattresses/innerspring-mattresses/organic-woodland-park-mattress/ after a few injuries and shoulder surgeries it has become not as comfortable as it used to. I decided that I would opt for a memory foam topper to help alleviate my shoulder pain points. I am primarily a back and side sleeper weighing in at 160lbs @ 6’2. I have reviewed Phoenix’s guides on foam toppers and the the two options I am considering are from the following (both 2inch toppers):

Brooklyn Beddinghttps://mattresstopper.com/products/4-lb-memory-foam-topper?variant=39590816743504 @4lbs Density
or

PlushBedshttps://www.plushbeds.com/collections/memory-foam-toppers/products/luxury-memory-foam-toppers?variant=20164770234466 @ 5.3 Density.

Has anyone had any experience with any of the toppers? Or would it be better to go with a different brand? or different option like serene or maybe thicker?

Thanks for the help in advance!

Hi adubg.

Welcome to our Mattress Forum.

It looks like you did some research and have chosen two toppers that fall well within our durability guidelines. Because your mattress is firm not sinking, and needs softness instead of support, I agree that a topper is a good direction to go!

I personally don’t have any experience with those toppers, so I can’t weigh there, but I’m hoping by boosting your thread here that someone who has experience with these toppers will see and reply

interesting. the plush beds description looks good but are they reliable? I wonder if they make this themselves or buy from a manufacturer.

Hi there. I do not have any experience with either of those toppers, but I recently received sample cubes of memory foam 3lb, 4lb, and 5lb from foam factory. They too offer toppers for much less price wise (but I believe they do not accept returns) you can choose how many inches thick though. My though though was you could request the free samples from them, then know better which you think youd prefer, even if you buy elsewhere.
