What is Latex Foam?
All natural latex foam, whether created by the Talalay or Dunlop process, is derived from a type of milk that is drained from Hevea Brasiliensis, or the Rubber Tree, in Asia. In blended latex, which we don’t use, they use both synthetic and natural latex. The rubber tree is milked like maple syrup for around 25 to 30 years before it stops being productive. All natural latex foam is a renewable resource, and our matresses are biodegradeable. Our mattresses won’t sit in landfill for years and years to come. For people sensitive to chemicals, they will appreciate that our foam is Antimicrobal, Hypoallergenic, Mold Resistant and Dust Mite Resistant. The protein responsible for allergic reactions to latex is removed from the finished product. Both of our all natural Talalay and all natural Dunlop are certified Oeko-Tek Class 100 which means it’s safe to even touch baby skin. Since only about 2% of the Talalay market is all natural with no synthetic fillers, you will run in to companies saying they use all natural talalay or dunlop when really it’s probably 30% natural and 70% synthetic or worse. While it’s true that blended latex is more durable and cheaper, those who want the best feeling latex while being as chemical free as possible will appreciate our mattresses more. All natural talalay is more elastic and responsive when compared to blended Talalay and all natural Dunlop.
How do All Natural Latex Mattresses compare to Innerspring and Memory Foam?
More and more people are reporting large sink holes in their mattresses, even in Latex mattresses! It’s usually not the springs, memory foam or latex; usually, it’s the cheap polyurethane chemical riden foam. Whether the polyurethane is in the comfort layers of an innerspring mattresses or being support layers in latex and memory foam mattresses, the polyurethane is usually the weakest link. Bare in mind that polyurethane foam has a million different names in the mattress industry; even memory foam is also just a high quality polyurethane foam injected with chemicals to make it denser and increase it’s viscosity. As the base foam of memory foam mattresses and their casings are fairly cheap, you’re pretty much spending all your money on the memory foam. If you bought a $3,500 king sized memory foam mattress with 4" of memory foam and an 8 inch polyurethane base, you are pretty much spending $800 an inch on memory foam. Many manufacturers of “latex” mattresses also do the same thing that memory foam manufacturers do which is have 2-4 inches of latex on top of a cheap polyurethane core.
In our Affordable Organic Mattresses, whether you buy the 10", 13" or 16" mattress, it will all be made up of souly all natural latex layers. You will not find any cheap polyurethane comfort or support layers in our mattresses!
Unique to all latex mattresses, our queen, king and California king sized mattresses can have completely different styled mattresses on each side of the mattress! One side can be Medium, Medium Firm, Firm and Extra Firm while the other side is Soft, Medium, Medium Firm and Firm! There are literally hundreds of combinations!

Our latex mattresses are also compatable with adjustable bases!
There is about an inch of organic, chemical free wool in the top layer of this mattress that helps regulate temperature and act as a natural flame retardant. A law in 2007 says every mattress much resist fire. Unless specifically stated, that innerspring or memory foam mattress you might have looked at recently probably has chemicals infused in to it to make it fire resistant. Also, beware of competitors “organic” wool. Some manufacturers use wool that had been chemically treated.
Innersprings can gather pounds of dust mites after years of use. Even worse, a 2002 Norwegian study showed that memory foam mattresses can gather anywhere to between 4 and 8 times the amount of dust mite feces in comparison to innerspring mattresses. This is a problem you will not have with our all natural latex matresses.
Memory foam is known to have horrible off gassing which has been known to make people sick. One begins to wonder after experiencing the smell if there has been enough research in to the safety of breathing in these vapors.
Latex mattresses are also known to be much more elastic than memory foam mattresses; unlinke the sink hole that memory foam mattresses make and recover slow from, latex just bounces right back. Latex mattresses are known to sleep much cooler than memory foam mattresses as well.
Latex foam is the most durable foam you can buy.
What is the difference between Talalay and Dunlop Latex?
The Dunlop method for creating latex foam was first commercialized in the early 1930s while the Talalay method was first made commercialy available in the late 1940s. Yes it’s true the processes are old, but their manufacturing methods have been perfected over the years to create the best foam in the world. In reality, both Dunlop and Talalay use similar manufacturing steps except that Talalay vaccumes, super freezes and injects their foam with CO2; this is why Talalay is more expensive than Dunlop. The Talalay process is said to give a more open cell structure than Dunlop with a more consistent and elastic feel although the Dunlop we use today is top notch. You might even prefer the Dunlop over our Talalay! Whether you choose all Talalay, all Dunlop or a mix of both, you will be very satisfied with your purchase. If you choose to use both Talalay and Dunlop in your mattress, we recommend that you use Talalay in the top 1-2 layers and Dunlop in the bottom layers.

Why are our Affordable Organic Mattresses so Cheap?
The question you should be asking is why are other mattresses so expensive? They often use cheap materials and don’t last very long yet they still cost an arm and a leg. The mark ups are huge! The mattresses at your local big box store have been marked up to at least 5 times the cost of the materials needed to make them. Granted, they need to pay many more employees, both the retailer and manufacturer need to make money and both businesses have expenses us smaller companies can avoid, but still, they make a pretty penny on the consumer.

In Summary

For the price, comfort, positive health benefits, durability and environmental friendliness, we feel we offer a mattress in the top .1% of quality mattresses being made throughout the world without having a guilty conscience by charging too much. Many 13" all natural, oganic latex mattresses can cost over $7,000 for a king without a foundation! We can sleep at night because we know we’re that mattress store everyone wishes existed, like me! Sleeping on our Organic Mattresses doesn’t hurt though either.
