Glideaway Space Saver Frame reviews?

I am looking into the Glideaway Space Saver Frame based on Pheonix’s review in the foundation/frame sticky thread. I have talked to several of the mattress manufacturers who I am considering and they have all agreed this frame will be fine with the respective mattresses I am looking at.

My main question is about durability and does it make any noise? I doubt Pheonix would recommend it if it wasn’t good quality, but just want to make sure I’m not purchasing anything that will be squeaky.

Hi RTR,

I haven’t seen any reviews about the Glideaway Space Saver frame but the reason I like it is that it has smaller gaps between the wires and a more evenly supportive surface than some of the other similar platform bedframes. There is more about the wire grid platform bedframes in post #10 here.

Most of these types of platform bedframes are strong and don’t have any durability issues but all them also seem to have a few that have developed squeaks over time (which should be “fixable” if you find the source of the squeaks) or a few instances where a weld or the frame has broken but these don’t seem to be the “norm”.

We bought this frame (actually two of them joined together to make a 75" long king-size-wide frame for our two 12" deep standard-twin HD memory foam mattresses) and have had it in use for close to three months. It feels very sturdy. We have the frame on a wood floor - we eliminated some squeaking we experienced in the beginning by putting felt furniture glides under the feet. I think if you have carpeting underneath, this won’t even be an issue. So far, so good! I like being able to get under it fairly easily to vacuum, so I don’t store anything under it, which is also an option because of the 14" height.
