Good mattress on a college budget

Hello MU community!

I think I found a good mattress on a college budget. I’ve been sleeping on a 3in poly mattresses and a $10 air mattress for 3 years now, and after much back and shoulder pain I thought I need to spend some money on a decent mattress.

My first instinct was to search all top rated mattresses on amazon, but I did some digging here on MU and I found better options from other companies. The mattress I finally settled on is the “ULTIMATE DREAMS LATEX MATTRESS” from dreamfoambedding.com. This mattress is less than $400 after the 10% discount promotion. I initially had a $200 budget, but I realize spending a bit more can be cheaper in the long run. I’ll keep you guys posted on how the mattress turns out!

As you probably know from your reading here you certainly made a great quality/value choice and I’m looking forward to your comments and feedback once you’ve received it and have had the chance to try it out.

I think you were very wise to raise your budget a little because it’s very unlikely that you would have found a good quality mattress inside your original budget.
