Has anyone tried this mattress/company before?

Still on the hunt for affordable/good latex mattresses in Canada and came across this one:

Has anyone tried this mattress before?

Curious as to what firmness I should get and if I should get a topper for it as well. I’m 6ft 185lbs and sleep on my side and wake up on my back.

Thanks!

Good morning latexmattress,

Welcome to TMU and thank you for your post. For a side sleeper, we recommend at least 3 or 4" of softer dunlop latex over a 6" firm core. The model you posted only has a soft 2", you can try it as is and see how you feels. If ever you need more pressure relief, then you can add a 2" topper down the road.

Did you know that we have we make a customizable 10" organic dunlop latex with a wool quilted organic cotton cover for about the same price as the mattress you posted? It will give you more options than the Northstar and also ships from Canada. Don’t forget to use the discount code on the Trusted members page.

Best of luck to you, and feel free to ask more questions as you go through the process

Good morning MFC,

Thank you for your thoughtful reply! What would you think if I tried a 6" firm base layer, then a 2" medium topper, and a 2" soft topper on top of it?

I would love to go through MFC as I’ve heard great things about you, but I’m looking for a twin size mattress and the link I sent has it available for $860 including taxes. Could you work on me with the price by chance?

If not, I appreciate your help nonetheless!

Best

Good morning latexmattress,

Yes, I think that combination would be excellent for your weight and sleeping style.

I’m sorry, but we really can’t beat that price as it cost us more than that just to make the mattress. I’m not sure why we can match their price on a Queen size, but definitely not on the twin size.

Please follow up with us once you get it and have slept on it for a while,

all the best!
