I’ve been at this for nearly 2 years now. I’ve tried a ton of mattress in stores and also purchased and returned many bed-in-box mattresses, such as SleepEZ, Wink, Brentwood, Zinus, Tempurpedic, and have hated them all. I currently am on the Tempurpedic because I was told it was the best thing for my back pain, but I’m finding the opposite to be true. It’s the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever owned, it’s made my back pain worse, and I hate going to sleep on it at night. I’m past the return period but plan to sell it and take a big loss on it because I hate it so much.
I don’t know where to turn next because I’ve tried full latex, latex hybrid, memory foam hybrid, full memory foam, and Tempurpedic. I feel I’ve tried every kind of bed and nothing has been comfortable. I used to like very plush, pillow top beds in the past, but that is not ideal for my back now. I need something that is supportive and keeps my spine aligned but doesn’t feel too hard and has a bit of a plush feel. I tried the Saatva recently and it seemed ok in the showroom, but have no idea how it’s going to feel at home, and the reviews are iffy. Can anyone recommend what I should try next and if the Saatva is a good option?
You didnt say which Tempurpedic you bought. Which one do you have? Which Tempurpedic is best for back pain? Pro Adapt Firm without a doubt!!! I have back pain too and Im torn between Pro Adapt Firm and Luxe Adapt Firm. Or go with Flobeds Vzone which is adjustable.
The only solution is to read TMU mattress buying guide and go lay on mattresses. Narrow it down to your 2-3 favorite and make a decision. PPP….pressure relief, preference, posture.

The Tempurpedic Pro Adapt Firm is so different than anything else out there. It is very hard and firm. It does conform a little. It does get a little softer. There is nothing else like it on the market. Id check it out.

I have the Pro Adapt Medium. I can’t imagine sleeping on the firm, the medium is already way to firm. It’s like sleeping on the ground, does not conform to my body at all, I hate it. My back pain is worse since getting it. The Flobeds seems like it would be very similar to the SleepEz, which I also didn’t like. It caved in way too much when you moved around, it was like quicksand.
Try Intellibed or Purple. It has a combination of hard and soft. It is unique. I went to Mathis Brothers in Ontario, CA to check out Matrix Supreme. (Soft). They had 5 Intellibed Matrix beds with varied levels of firmness. I guess Matrix Supreme is the most popular. Try it out.
The other exotic beds that I checked out were the Technogel Favola (laid on it) and Sleepovation(did not order or lay on it). Technogel was pretty awesome, but I read a lot of bad reviews. $6k mattress too. I felt Tempur was more comfortable than Technogel, but Technogel had better back support for back sleeper.
Hope this helps!
