Heated mattress pad + memory foam....okay together?

Hello everyone. I have recently started the search to replace our 10 year old Verlo innerspring mattress. It actually hurts to lay down on it, with the coils pressing against us as we lay on it. I’ve been impressed by the information about the Ultimate Dreams 13" mattress, but my wife reminded me that we also have a heated mattress pad on our bed that we do not want to get rid of…its our way of surviving the cold winters :slight_smile:

Is it okay to us a heated mattress pad on a memory foam mattress?

Hi jray71,

Memory foam is heat sensitive and using a heated mattress pad would soften the memory foam and change the feel of the mattress and would also risk damaging the memory foam.

I wouldn’t suggest it but if it was absolutely necessary then using a mattress pad on the lowest setting for about 15 minutes or so before you went to bed to warm the bed up a bit and then turning it off when you go to bed may be OK.
