I am 5’3 and 110 pounds. Combination side, back, and that one foot thing sleeper. I liked the Temper-Pedic Proadapt, but my budget is ~1,000 CDN for a double.
I would like to support a small business near me who provided me with their time, but I value quality and longevity overall. Their selection was on the smaller side, and the two I am interested in were a national brand with little consumer information, and a pillowtop that I fear would not be at a quality that would last long and may assist in another generation of lower back pain.
They are the:
Springwell Chiropractic Captivate 21. Tight Top - Firm
Beautyrest Cayman Medium Firm
Can someone provide assurance on whether I am making a decent choice?
Thank you for sharing some of your sleep stats with us. It is great that you’re looking for a mattress that is going to give you the longevity you’re looking for and your budget definitely allows for a quality mattress! If you haven’t done so already, I would suggest taking a look at our Mattress Durability Guidelines for more information on selecting a durable mattress.
Here is one (of many) useful snippets from that resource that pertains directly to you:
Since you mentioned wanting to support a local business, I would also recommend reading this resource on identifying a quality retailer.
Now to the two mattresses you mentioned!
I did some research in an attempt to find any detailed spec information about either mattress and unfortunately found nothing. It may be worth asking the outlet/retailer you buy from if they have the foam density used in the various layers of these mattresses and if they will share that with you.
If you happen to come across these specifications and wish to share them here for us to review, you are more than welcome to do so.
