High-density memory foam or gel mattress

I’ve tried out several beds and have decided that I like the contouring and slow-sink of a high-density or gel comfort layer.
To give you an idea of the feel I am looking for, here is a list of beds I like:
Tempur-Pedic ProAdapt Hybrid medium (too expensive)
Serta iComfortECO medium (apparently is discontinued?)
Mlily harmony+gel (a little too firm for my taste, plus I can’t find this anywhere and there is no return policy)

I am 5’10", 135lbs, tend to fall asleep on my side and wake up on my stomach. I need something that my bony body can sink into. I would like it to be on the cheaper side since my wife and I will do split king because she likes a firmer mattress.

I’ve thought about the TP Supreme or SleepScience iFlip Napa from Costco, but I have to get the adjustable base if I want it in split king. We want to get other bases that include lumbar adjustment.

Thank you for any help you may be able to provide!

It sounds like you’re looking for a mattress that offers a specific kind of comfort and support, particularly for side sleeping. You also mentioned that you liked the feel of the Tempur-Pedic ProAdapt Medium Hybrid.

As a chiropractor and mattress designer, I understand the importance of finding a mattress that caters to your individual needs and preferences. And I think I have a solution that might be perfect for you: the Tempflow Elite Conforma Medium Hybrid mattress.

Here’s why I think it could be a great fit:

  • Contouring Comfort: The Tempflow Elite Conforma Medium Hybrid uses a high-density memory foam similar to the Tempur-Pedic ProAdapt Medium Hybrid, which provides that slow-sinking, contouring feel you’re looking for. It will gently cradle your body and relieve pressure points, which is essential for side sleepers with bony structures.
  • Targeted Support: While contouring, it also offers excellent support to keep your spine in proper alignment. This is important for preventing back pain and ensuring a comfortable sleep, regardless of whether you end up on your side or stomach.
  • Split King Option: Tempflow mattresses are available in split king configurations, which means you and your wife can each choose your preferred comfort level without compromising. She can even opt for a firmer Tempflow model or Back Science Series 2 model that is the same thickness as the Tempflow EliteConforma, while you enjoy the medium feel of the Elite Conforma Hybrid, though that mattress is still a very supportive mattress overall.
  • Adjustable Base Compatibility: You can pair the Tempflow Elite Conforma Medium Hybrid with an adjustable base that includes lumbar adjustment, allowing you to further customize your sleep experience and find the perfect position for your needs.

Speaking of adjustable bases, I highly recommend pairing your Tempflow mattress with a BackFlex adjustable bed from Back Science. The BackFlex2 and BackFlex3 models offer exceptional features like lumbar support, zero gravity settings, and even a patented back stretching program only available on the BackFlex3. They’re also incredibly durable, with the BackFlex3 boasting a 25-year warranty on all components! You can check them out here: Bed Models & Pricing | Back Science™

And don’t forget, as a Mattress Underground member, you can use the code TMU10 to get a 10% discount on both your Tempflow mattress and BackFlex adjustable bed!
