i like to sleep sort of with my face into the pillow - which means it has to be fresh. with a regular dacron pillow i can throw the whole thing into the washing machine and that solves the problem, but what about shredded foam one ?
with a mattress i can protect it with a few extra layers on top of the foam, but with pillow what do i have - a half millimeter worth of cotton from the sheets ?
i am specifically thinking about this pillow: Amazon.com
you know, it would be a lot easier to clean a shredded foam pillow i think if it had access to the foam - like a buckwheat pillow - where you can take the material out and put it back in.
in fact it would be useful for adjusting comfort as well. why are companies so cheap ? why is adding a zipper such a problem for them ? it is the same problem with that brooklyn bedding topper and these pillows - it is retarded
it’s like making a car where the wheels are permanently attached to save 5 bucks on the bolts, tires permanently attached to the wheels to save 2 bucks on tire wall construction, headlight bulbs are all permanently soldered in to save 10 pennies on bulb sockets and gas tank is welded shut to save 3 dollars on a gas tank cap for a slight disadvantage of never being able to put gas in your car once you run out of gas.
its dumb its dumb its dumb its dumb …
it CAN NOT be justified - it’s just a case of greed meets stupidity
if i could spread the contents of one pillow across the entire surface of the bed to dry it would probably dry in an hour or two, but when it’s all sealed in it will probably take days …
you know in Soviet Union everything was designed to last forever - you never replaced anything you just fixed it - but here in US everything is designed to be replaced every 2 - 3 years. now with something like a smartphone that’s understandable - in fact i couldn’t go for 2 years and had to pay early upgrade fee, but smartphone technology changes every year - pillow technology changes maybe every 20 years …
