I only just learned the Sleep Number is most likely about to go under. I really love my PSE 360 Smart Bed and am afraid of losing the ability to adjust the hardness if they app stops working. What do I need to do and/or buy now to ensure I don’t lose at least the basic adjustment ability?
edit: I’ll add that the app is the only way I currently have to adjust it. I know it supports bluetooth as well as wifi, but with the way a lot of that stuff works, if the online part goes down for good, it could even make the BT part stop working, hence my concern.
Welcome to our Mattress Forum. Have they said they won’t be honoring warranties, or moving that particular aspect of their business to someone who can/will honor warranties?
I’d look and see if independent Sleep Number bed technicians are a thing.
You can also take comfort (pun slightly intended) in knowing that there are brands out there with comparable (dare I say better) options, such as Personal Comfort…so if something catastrophic does happen, you’re not totally out a sleep system that works for you.
They are one of the best advisors on this website. Everything you asked was talked about, it seems you’ll have to go along and figure things out as they go.
They never address my question though. I have no warranty issues, the bed works great, it’ll still continue to be a bed even if the app stops working. The only thing I asked about, and was even concerned with was the ability to adjust the hardness of the bed if the app stopps working. Nothing more, nothing less.
I see. From what i read the app is still likely to work for adjustment, but the sleep score and other online functionality would be closed off.
It also said customers were advised to try to buy a physical remote if possible.
If neither of these solutions work, another solution will likely arise as there are thousands and thousands of people who will have the same issue. It’s likely a developer would create another app which could be used to adjust the bed.
Maybe, it is time to use AI tools to debug the traffic between various components and write an open source tool. Until someone steps in to do that, you are out of luck.
