Ikea slatted base for foam mattress (dreamfoam)

I’m looking to purchase a queen dreamfoam 12 in 1, along with a bed from ikea.
I am trying to decide between the two slatted bases ikea offers, the sultan luroy and the sultan luxeby.
Any advise on which would be more suited for the foam mattress would be very much appreciated.
Also, would I need to get extra support for the middle of the slats?

Ikea has 3 slatted based and two of them have flex which can change the feel and performance of the mattress. Most foam mattresses are designed to work best with a rigid non flexing support system underneath them so I would lean towards using the Sultan Lade unless you have a specific reason to use a base that has flex in it. I would also make sure that your bedframe has a center support beam that provides good support to the floor in queen size or larger to prevent sagging in the bedframe.

My son purchased the Ikea queen size Brusali bed frame with the SULTAN LURÖY slatted bed base for his Costco memory foam mattress in his guest room for $199. + tax. I helped him assemble it. For its low price I was surprised by its quality and the ease of assembly.
My wife and I slept on the mattress for a few nights and found it to be quite comfortable. Costco’s memory foam mattresses are a bit firm so the flexible slats helped.

If you go with a flexible bed base, and this is to be your main bed, the SULTAN LAXEBY may be a better choice.

My son’s SULTAN LURÖY bed base sits on 2 sturdy metal side rails and a metal middle rail that came with the bed frame and are screwed to the bed frame. No extra support was needed.

Hi Shipple,

If I was going to go with a flexible support system under a memory foam mattress I would agree with BobP and would probably also choose the Laxeby because it has the option to firm up the tension in the middle which may be useful to fine tune alignment.
