I'm considering buying from Select Foam-- any personal experiences with them?

Hi, everyone–

So I’ve been on this forum for about a week now and have been doing quite a bit of reading. Phoenix has been a great resource.

After looking at Phoenix’s list of suggested sellers and also visiting 3 local retailers to test beds (mostly tempurpedic beds), I’m considering purchasing from Select Foam.

I’m leaning towards one of Select Foam’s HD beds. Does anyone have experience with any of their HD beds? I’m thinking of going with the Regalis because I liked tempurpedic’s Rhaposdy, but I’ve also read on here that it may be too firm.

I might be persuaded to go with one of their Cirrus beds, but the reason I’m a little wary of those is because when I tested the tempurpedic Cloud beds I sank pretty deep into them and I’m afraid that may result in my lumbar spine sagging too much when sleeping. I’m 180lbs and recently had surgery on my lumbar spine.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I’m also interested in hearing from SelectFoam customers. I was pleased to see they admit to reverse engineering Tempur mattresses and then building “tributes” from even better quality materials. I’m in your club with a lumbar injury, but don’t be led into thinking that you have to have a firm mattress to help your back. I found the Rhapsody to be too firm for me, and the Cloud was much better. I tried various Cloud models before settling on the Luxe, but the price tag - $4299 for a King - was discouraging to say the least. SelectFoam offers their version for $2k less, so they definitely bear looking at.

I’m guessing you’re in Florida if you’re considering SelectFoam, but if you’re not too far from Fort Meyers I’d take a look at Matter Brothers since they have a location down there, as well as their main warehouse and bed factory. I’ll be posting a review of my shopping experience with them later today.

I heard the Rhapsody (and SelectFoam’s equivalent, the Regalis) are too firm for some people. I liked the Rhapsody when I laid on it at the store, but that wasn’t for more than 10-15minutes so I can imagine it could be too firm for being on hours at a time. Because of the firmness of the Rhapsody (Regalis), I’m thinking about going with Select Foam’s Cirrus Luxe. I think I’m going to go back to a local store and test out the Rhapsody for about 45 minutes and then the Cloud Luxe for about 45 minutes and then make a decision on Select Foam’s Regalis or Cirrus Luxe.

I don’t live in FL; I live in VA.

Thanks for your feedback.
