Thanks to Phoenix and various other sources including Shawn at Sleep EZ we received our mattress last week; set it up last Saturday and have slept on it for 4 nights now.
We previously ordered the Leggett and Platt Prodigy Twin XL adjustable bed system and got a great price from Tim at Richmond Bedding. No shipping/no taxes/no hassles and, again, great price.
We ordered twin XL 10000’s with his: xfirm, firm, medium and hers: firm, medium, soft and soft 3 inch twin xl toppers. All latex is blended talalay. We LOVE the softer feel and it is amazingly supportive.
First, the materials were surprising. You hear from previous posts that ‘the cover is nice, and the latex is packed well and looks great.’ Well, the cover IS VERY nice and the latex isPRISTINE. Could not be happier with the materials.
We ordered St. Dormier covers and , again, they are exceptional. We have latex pillows from jcpenneys (yes jcpenneys) and they are really great. The combination works really well together.
Is everything perfect? Well, I personally have slept better with no aches. It’s obviously very early. The comfort and support are REALLY noticeable over and above our previous Stearns and Foster double pillowtop that served us well for 11 years. I mean REALLY, REALLY noticeable.
It does sleep warmer but not annoyingly so. The main issue to overcome are the twin XL’s and the fact that there are 2 separate beds. This is accentuated with the pillowtops because they increase the separation between the beds. The pillowtops offer a plusher feel and it’s great for my shoulders/back. The separate adjustable beds are great for our individual nuances/ patterns. The crevice in the middle is new and will take time to acclimate/adjust to the feel.
My wife is also comfortable but has the same reservations.
We have options that include staying put; changing the topper to a king and synchronizing the remotes; changing to a 1300 king by ordering a new king cover and switching the toppers to a 1 piece king soft top layer. We are committed to not change anything for the first 30 days and see where we are at that time.
In summary: Sleep EZ customer service and initial quality impressions are superb. When you realize that the latex is exactly the same, with the same suppliers, as more expensive retailers, the decision becomes easy. The latex is the biggest satisfaction point. There are more than subtle differences between our sides but initial concern for my side being too firm were unfounded. With the soft topper the cushion is there and the support is really nice. I’m large at 6.3" now 235 and my wife is 5’3" , 135. Her side is too soft for me-good for her; mine just right for me at this point. Shawn really helped our selection process- and he seems to be right on. He emphasized that a topper will help issues including sore shoulders and that it will protect and prolong the life of the mattress- especially on my side. Bottom line - he listened.
Finally in comparing other tested mattresses including Pure latex Bliss: the comfort is there, the price is less and the service is impeccable. Trying in-store mattresses and realizing what latex had to offer ultimately allowed us to pull the trigger for our on-line purchase. The Forum helped tremendously in understanding various options. Our satisfaction, at this point, is obviously very high.
