My husband decided to upgrade our bed, so we purchased a Samina bed in July 2024. I gave it ample adjustment time, but I just don’t sleep well on that bed. I’m looking to see if there is a market to be able to resell this bed. We got a custom/handmade bedframe for it from Samina and custom sheets as well. We have Samina brand latex toppers for adjusting the feel of the bed.
Located in Houston, TX, prefer to sell locally or at least somewhat locally.
If anyone is interested, feel free to reach out to discuss specifics.
Hi Jwalkerhtx,
Sorry this system did not work out for you. I am curious as this is the first time I have seen this brand. Looking at one of their options, for a wood bed frame with headboard, wooden slats and 2 latex layers, was $13,500. Other than the fact you were not comfortable, do you feel the price and value for what you were getting was in alignment. I am trying to figure out where the cost comes into play here.

It is very hard to resell used mattresses, unless you are selling for dirt cheap, as one can buy a brand new King latex, or hybrid latex, mattress for about $1500 from any latex companies like LMF, APM.
I do feel like the cost is representative of the final product. We were looking to move away from certain materials and this accomplished that. The issue I experienced is apparently not that common and I tried several things to troubleshoot, but at the end of the day, I’m petite, and that played a large part of why I didn’t love the bed for myself. Everything is handmade, including the bed frame, materials are high quality and the craftsmanship appears fantastic.
ETA: I wanted to sink into the bed more than I did and none of the troubleshooting got us to the level I was looking for because I didn’t weigh enough to do it. My husband is also very trim and average height, but he didn’t have that same issue; I’m 5’1”/105lbs. If you enjoy a firm/medium firm bed, there’d be no issue.
Thanks for the information, will keep them on the radar for the future should others be looking for that type of quality and craftsmanship.
Thanks for your input. I realize that this post may not be for the majority of people looking for a new mattress/bed. I’m specifically addressing any folks interested in a top of the line Samina set up. Figured it couldn’t hurt to post.
You only need one person who is looking for what you are offering. Curious though, was it the latex or the bedframe that made it uncomfortable. Perhaps reusing the bedframe, even if you have replace with the non euro no flex slats. Perhaps make some lemon-aid from something that was not quite right. Of course, I am sure there is more to the story, but just thinking out loud.
I think it was just the combo of the latex/wool. The slats system is cool, and when I lay down on just the slats, the give is so personalized that I couldn’t have imagined I would have had any issue. But the wool/latex topper combo just didn’t pan out the way I wanted it to. I feel bad admitting that this is not the bed for me because it otherwise checks so many boxes. The bedframe is great, there’s a slight incline to it, which is nice and it’s beautifully built.
