Is Legendaire legit?

After trying gobs of mattresses, I found a Legendaire that I really liked. The store says they provide beds for hotels (Four Seasons, etc). When researching, the only reviews seem to be related to the specific store that sells it. Has anyone had one of these or can attest if they’re legit?

Hi lmb123,

Welcome to TMU.

I think the best strategy here is to contact them and ask them to identify the layers in the mattress. I have seen some retailers selling them, but rarely tell you the specs Here is an example.

The mattress may be a wonderful mattress, but how do we know without knowing the specifications of the mattress.

One position you can take, if it feels good, and you lied on it for a good 30 minutes in the showroom, and were able to get a sense of how you feel on it, in the amount of time it would normally take you to fall asleep, that is a first step. Unfortunately, this will not indicate long term comfort and durability.

The fact that many high end resorts, hotels, etc use the mattress, is not necessarily and indication of longevity or durability either. Most resorts, hotels etc, change out their mattresses every 3-5 years. So that is certainly not a testament to longevity. On the other hand, most resorts have the mattresses built to “their” specifications, so the retail mattress that is being sold is not exactly the same as the one the resorts or using. I would not expect the “resort” mattress to be manufactured to a higher quality standard than the retail mattress either.

If they will give you the specs, and it is possible to review those, then perhaps we could make some commentary as to the quality and durability of each layer of the mattress in question. That way we can better guesstimate durability and longevity.

Hope this helps you get the ball rolling.

Thank you for the feedback and information. I will work to gather the specs before moving forward. I already appreciate the knowledge I’ve gained from this site!
