Hello,
I am located in the middle of Europe and I am in the process of buying a new mattress. Originally I wanted a natural latex one, but it is nearly impossible to find it over here. Also, every shopping assistant in every shop is trying to convince me into buying a Memory foam instead. I found the marketing and BS in this industry really disgusting, but that’s a different story.
I was aware of some disadvantages of memory foam, like extensive sweating, and most importantly temperature-depentibility. I didn’t want my mattress to be different over summer and winter, when sleeping alone or with somebody etc. Also didn’t want the “laziness” of the bed when moving around or having sex. You know the idea of this type of material.
However. In the Magniflex showroom, they told me "yes yes yes you are right, but our foam is patented and only our memory foam is not temperature depended, but pressure dependent. " They told me that all the disadvantages I had are true, but not for them and since the patent is still valid, so far nobody can do it like them.
I have asked about this in one shop, where they are selling more brands, and they told me that it is true that their memory foam is somewhat different and “not that bad” in the terms of my concerns.
Can anybody relate to this, confirm that or it is also BS? I am in the position that I am failing to find the latex one, so if I should buy Memory foam it probably should be the Magniflex.
Thank you very much!
P.S.: the shop assistant in Magniflex also said, that not all their memory foams is patented and some of them are not exclusive to them. These are temp-dependent as well he said. (patented should be Memoform, Magnifoam and Geomemory)
P.P.S: I had latex all my life and I have no experience with others, so I am not strictly-convinced for it and I am willing to experiment. However I found classic foams not comfy and sprigs are no-go. My back is in a pain so I want something good.
