Is there an advantage to buying a mattress at Costco (Canada)?

Hi,

I’m considering getting a mattress at Costco Canada - is there any advantage to buying from Costco? Can you return it years later if it sags more easily than at other places?

I’ve never shopped at costco before, but have heard good things.

The mattress i’m considering is a natural latex one - NSC Medical Natural Elements.

I’m also considering getting the silk and snow latex mattress in a box, but have heard not so good things about the quality. It costs half of what the Costco mattress does though,

Thanks.

Hi albertmills.

Costco (at least in the US) is known to have a “risk-free, 100% guarantee” on their items which means that if you’re not satisfied with your mattress, you should be able return it anytime for a full refund. Also, if you were to move to another city, you could return the mattress to the Costco in your new city.

I would clarify the specifics with your Costco, though, to be on the safe side.

The mattress you are considering looks to be a durable, quality mattress. I don’t have personal experience with either mattress, so it’s hard for me to make any sort of meaningful commentary about quality here.

I will say, the price tag on that NSC mattress is pretty hefty for something that appears to be quite simple. You may be interested in reading our article on mattress pricing and budget.

I reviewed the Silk and Snow mattress, and it does not appear to have any weak links in it that would affect it’s durability. A sleeper of an average weight/build could sleep quite comfortably on this mattress, assuming it is a fit for their preferences. There is only 2.5" of latex in the comfort layer, which may not be enough for heavier sleepers, side sleepers, or combo sleepers who switch between flat profiles (like back/stomach) and side sleeping. We have more about sleeping positions here.

I hope this helps!
