Just purchased a Dreamfoam Ultimate Dreams Supreme 12" Gel Memory Foam, Yipee!

I have found this forum super helpful in my long search through the endless information on choosing a mattress! I was pretty overwhelmed with choices and having trouble choosing between traditional mattresses and mattresses that were more consciousness around materials/off-gassing/etc. My husband had been enchanted by a few different deals at Costco and this forum helped me better communicate with him around my concerns with a purchase from there. I really like how you give detailed and well researched information that helped him understand the benefits of looking at more consciously built mattresses,

We had never heard of many of the beds/brads mentioned on here and didn’t know that there was a lower cost and Certi-Pur Certified option comparable to Tempurpedic mattresses. So, in the end we settled on 2 twin XL Dreamfoam Ultimate Dreams Supreme 12" mattresses, so we can put them on a split king adjustable bed frame. I was really torn between the Supreme and the Ultimate Dreams 13" after field testing the Cloud Supreme and Cloud Luxe at a local mattress store. I enjoyed them both and at times had a hard time telling the subtle differences. Ended up going with the Dreamfoam Supreme supposing that firmer may be better and can be softened with a topper if needed. I am hoping it is not too firm and will follow-up with an update later.

Thank you again for all the guidance and support!! We are super excited about our mattresses!

Hi cravingsleep,

Thanks for letting us know what you ended up deciding … and congratulations on your new mattress

As you probably know I think you made a great quality/value choice and I’m looking forward to your comments and feedback once you’ve received it and have had the chance to sleep on it for a bit.

I finally created an account to get on the forum and share a very similar story. After years of sleeping on innerspring mattresses I figured this may have been a major factor of all my tossing/turning, sleepless nights and waking up with aches and pains.

A couple of months ago I started my research and spent many hours reading this site/forum, online retailers, customer reviews and manufacturer websites. I didn’t have a chance to go try any beds out in store due to my schedule but after looking at the quality, warranty, durability, comfort level and price point, I also decided on the Ultimate Dreams 12" Supreme.

I have been sleeping on the bed since Sept 7th and I have to say it has been amazing. I am not exaggerating when I say I was getting 4 hours max of sleep and have mostly slept or woken up in discomfort for a many, many years. The past week has been a completely different experience as I have been sleeping extremely well.

No tossing or turning except for a few adjustments (I was previously doing this almost every hour) and I have been been waking up with little to no aches or pains. The ones I do feel are improving though (my neck, left shoulder, lower back). If I had to describe it, its like my body is repairing/realigning/strengthening with the restful sleep and proper support. Even a 4 hour nap feels likr a full 8 hours on this bed. I am 6’2 270lbs and I would describe this bed as medium/almost just right. I could see some thinking its too soft but again I am a big dude and have been sleeping like a baby on this bed and have had no feeling of sinking in too much. The bamboo cover is soft and both the cover and mattress sleep cool throughout the night (its been in the 90s here in Cali).

Thank you Phoenix and the site/forum for contributing in this great purchase. Next buy is some quality memory foam pillows and a mattress topper to prolong the life of the bed since I am a bigger guy.

Sorry for the long post but there is hope for buying a quality mattress at a great price point and getting a good nights sleep.

I will also mention I was tight on funds and didnt have a slat frame or platform for the mattress. I went to Home Depot and had them cut 2x4x20s down to 5 feet sections (you can also cut 2x4x10) which will give you extra slats. The first 2 cuts were free and .50 cents for each additional cut. I then placed the slats in my metal frame and held them in place with duct tape. I also added a drawer liner layer between the mattress and wood. Final cost was around $40.

Thanks again Phoenix. Hope the OP enjoys the mattress as much as I am.
