Just purchased a Sleep EZ Organic 13000...

Haven’t seen it yet but thanks to the good info. we found on this site I feel like we made an informed decision. Thank you all very much! Also, Shawn at Sleep EZ was extremely helpful and quite the professional.

Anyhow, I’m pretty excited for this bed. It’s been about 15 years since my wife and I bought our last one.

I’ll try to circle back and post a review in the not too distant future.

Hi bigeinkcmo,

I think you certainly made a great choice and as you know I think highly of SleepEz and the type of guidance and service they provide to their customers.

Congratulations on your new mattress

I hope you have the chance to share your feedback once you’ve received it and have had the chance to sleep on it for a bit.

Thanks! We actually placed the order yesterday evening and just got the shipping notice. Should be here on Friday!

Update and initial review…

Bed arrived in four boxes via UPS exactly on time. In a bit of irony I was talking with Shawn on the phone about a mattress pad protector and UPS pulled up right after I disconnected. One box did have some minor shipping damage. Something tore into the side and barely went through. This wasn’t related to the packaging, as it was packaged well in sturdy cardboard and was stapled substantially. The UPS guy was kind enough to let me open the box right there and just make sure nothing bad happened. All was well.

So on to the bed. This isn’t really a project for someone quite old or frail. It’s not that it’s that hard, but it does take some strength to remove the packaging and move these things around. For my wife and I this was fine. If I was 75 and single I’d call my kids to help me put it together…if you follow. They really wrap these things well.

The quality of our Sleep EZ organic 13000 is top notch. I would say so far I feel like it’s a 10/10. We got exactly what we ordered. The Talalay latex was in excellent shape. It has a few small irregularities that are normal and to be expected. The pieces are very nice overall and nearly flawless. The cover is also very nice. I think there might have been one small spot that was pilled up on it but it might have been the edge I folded under the zipper. Honestly it was such a small thing I didn’t even double check it.

There is a slight smell to the latex that is almost honey like. I’m sure it will subside in time. It’s almost refreshing so it’s no biggie to me. My kids are in love with the smell and are pushing their faces into the bed and pillows. Lol.

We placed our bed on the thick rug in our bedroom. We also put a sheet between it and the floor. We didn’t order our bed frame until yesterday so our first days will be like this. The bed is immediately comfortable in our Medium, Medium, Firm, Extra Firm full Talalay configuration. We both had a solid nights sleep. I love how it feels and it forms around your body to offer such a great support. I especially like how the bed reacts when you are close together. It conforms really well. Neither of us could tell the other got in or out of the bed. I have high expectations going forward since I wasn’t sure how the first night would go.

We decided on linens from Costco. They had some high quality king bedding for the best value I could find. We ordered our bed frame online from Tatami Room. It’s a tatami (Japanese) style platform bed, The Wakayama model without a headboard. Should be here in a few days.

So this is the initial review and I’m really excited that we made this purchase.

Thanks again for all the help and info. here. I’ll try to do a follow-up review once we have it setup in a more final configuration.

I would definitely give Sleep EZ a solid recommendation thus far!

Hi bigeinkcmo,

Thanks for taking the time to share such detailed comments and feedback about your new mattress and the delivery and setup … I appreciate it

I’m also looking forward to any additional comments you have a chance to share when you have a chance to sleep on it for a while or any fine tuning adjustments you decide to make.

So another update. We’ve been on the bed for a little over the week and are still in love. I honestly think this was the best purchase I can recall in years. Both my wife and I are extremely happy. We had been sleeping with the mattress on the floor but on Thursday our new bed frame arrived from Tatami Room. We got the Wakayama platform bed. I works awesome with our new mattress and is quite sharp. It’s also built like a tank.

Tatami Room shipped the product trouble free and quick. There was some damage to the “box” of slates (shipped via FedEx) but everything was intact and not damaged. FedEx definitely did their best to poke a few holes in things but fortunately the bed was very well packaged.

So the bottom line is I would repeat these purchases again. My wife and I are both extremely happy. Also, I received in the mail today my MUG discount from Sleep EZ. So not only did I get a great deal for the 4th, I was further rewarded with an awesome discount thanks to this forum. Thanks again!!!

ps - We also really like the Hotel 400 thread count bamboo/cotton sheets from Costco and the Luna mattress pad protector. So far, so good on those items.

Hi bigeinkcmo,

Thanks for taking the time to share another update

It’s great to see that things are working out so well for you!

Thanks for such a great review.

I recently ordered SleepEZ 10000 based on my conversation with Shawn, according to my body weight, posture etc.

My mattress will arrive this week. Also got the MUG discount of 5%, they mailed the check. Unfortunately, there was no sale when I ordered. I guess I could have saved another $100 if I ordered during 4th of July sales. That’s ok I think, good sleep is worth more than waiting for a discount. I also read they don’t combine discounts when they already have promotions on. How true is this? (For future reference, I may buy another mattress from them).

Another question. Also considering the Wakayama Queen size bed. With no head board and side supports, does the mattress stay in place or you have to keep adjusting it? I was wondering maybe there is some velcro mechanism to keep it in place, or could be DIY.

I would appreciate a response, and I hope you are enjoying your new bed and getting some good sleep!

Hi lotus_ns5,

I’ve never seen SleepEZ have a sale on their iSleepEZ or Organic line but if a manufacturer that is a member of the site does have a short term sale then they normally only provide the higher of the two discounts (the sale discount or the MUG discount) to their customer and don’t combine them.

Thank you Phoenix. I guessed so too, thanks for a confirmation on that. I remember reading in one of the posts by you that the margins are not big and with free shipping etc. we can expect only a courtesy discount, which is well appreciated.

I have had only one night on the SleepEZ Organic 10000 mattress : Medium Tatalay/Firm Dunlop/Extra Firm Dunlop, and very pleased.

I am also keeping the mattress on the carpet with a sheet before I finalize my furniture purchase. Figured it was better this way than putting it on a wireframe boxspring for my traditional S brand mattress.

Hoping to hear from bigeinkcmo about the Wakayama bed. Or maybe you can point me to a thread if you remember from the top of your head.

Once again. There is a wealth of information here. I really appreciate all the time you put in responding to everyone and helping people out. Kudos to you! Thanks again!

Hi lotus_ns5,

Thanks for the “first night” update :).

If they are subscribed to this topic then they will receive an email with each new post but if they aren’t they may not see your question. I did a search on the forum and the only mention of the Wakayama bed is in this topic but they did say they were very happy with the combination in their feedback and latex is very heavy (as you know) and tends to stay wherever you put it so I don’t imagine it would be an issue.
