Kingsdown 12000-Series Sleep to Live Mattress Review

Once again we found ourselves shopping mattresses. going to the usual haunts I noticed the new kid on the block, Kingsdown. it was 2015 last time we shopped and this brand was nowhere we shopped in NC. now it’s in every chain store and mom and pop furniture store. they claim to have been in business for a hundred years? I guess they were just a little one off company until recently. well don’t waste your hard earned money! we did the sleep to live evaluation and it recommended “RED” or Firm for us as side sleepers. Well that is a hokey bunch of smoke and mirrors. it just reads your weight nothing more. then we fell victim to the “overstuffed” floor model. ever wonder why the floor models are beautiful but the one they deliver looks like the wave pool at Sea World? $3600 bucks for another piece of below average foam junk! they delivered it with a large divot near the head just below the perimeter casing. It looked as if it was previously used and that area was oriented at the foot and someone liked to sit there, it’s a butt sized divot! I’m thinking a returned item. now it’s crater that my head falls into! my fault I did not refuse it right then! I thought give it try and see if it levels out. Nope! slept on it for a month and it has been constant backaches from day 1! this thing has no real support layer. I can push my hands into it almost 7 inches. its a 16" tall mattress so that’s like 8" of foams, yellow foams, blue foam, white foam, crap foam! the springs aren’t doing anything that far down! I have not regretted anything more than this purchase! mostly we are side sleepers so this thing scrunches you up in the middle so your neck is tweaked and sore and your lower back hurts so badly with radiating pain that won’t quit until you get up and walk it off. it wakes you up several times in the night making a full nights sleep a distant memory, it’s brutal. most days I get up with a headache if not a migraine. this honestly this is the equivalent to a $1200 “Big Three” mattress, I have had many of those too! I contacted the salesman at Fred’s Beds and he said, “we’ve got your back” 10 year warranty! “Don;t even worry about it” " I will order you a return Kit" yeah well we all know what that means, if you don’t have more than a 3" dip you’re SOL! " the return kit is an elaborate cardboard scale that sits on the bed with weighted bean bags to hold the string taught and a hot pink string so you can set it up and take pictures for them to refuse your return!! that fact that they have this pre-printed cardboard cutout and “cornhole” Bags already made up and packaged is admission that there is a common problem with their beds!! apparently there are lots of complaints! Now I am working with the finance company to dispute as I don’t expect good thing from this manufacturer

Hi poppanaldo.

Thanks for sharing this review and your experience. We’re sorry you had to be the one to face issues and discomfort, but very much appreciate your perspective here for other consumers who may be considering this brand and model.

Wishing you all the luck in sorting it out in your favor!
