Visited Rest Assured in Rochester, MN today and spoke with the owner’s daughter Liz. What a wonderful experience. They are super transparent with their components - they even have screen shots of the material data sheets from their coil supplier Leggett & Platt on their website. I had done my homework, thank you Mattress Underground and r/mattressmod (on Reddit), and came into the store familiar with the available components and ready to try out the different combinations. It’s obvious they’ve been in the business for a long time and they had physical samples of all the components.
No pressure sales and no up-selling. Liz quoted me several different support/comfort combinations and their pricing is also super transparent. Best shopping experience I’ve had in a long time. Now the hard part is deciding what we want.
My husband and I are currently sleeping on a 20 year old Tempurpedic mattress (in a full-encasement cover) that very well might be wrong side (support side) up! We keep our (old house) bedroom at around 60 degrees in the winter and the humidity is super low so the memory foam is probably rock hard anyway but ever since I’ve been researching mattresses, I’ve realized that there’s pretty much zero “sinking in” going on. So even the Quantum Core (what they call “The Board”) mattress felt pretty soft in comparison. Now we have to decide on the Quantum Edge Bolsa (which was very nice) or the straight-up Quantum with either a Nano or Micro coil comfort layer.
