I found this interesting and wanted to share.
Thanks!
Hey dlbzone,
Thanks for sending in this link/study. We moved into the General Mattress thread, as TMU sometimes has consumer members that like to look at these studies. One of the things that is always difficult to gauge in these studies is that this is only a comparison between two different mattresses, and the generalization of the conclusion is a little misleading. Me, personally, I sleep on latex, and I am of the belief that the direction of the data is correct regarding pressure relief. As I clicked through the report this was the first thing I was looking for:
Just to be clear, I am not commenting on one’s scientific methodology, just when we are talking about mattresses, and as we all know at TMU all of the parts of the mattress work together and affect the pressure relief. This study shows the “Sofzsleep” had better pressure relief over the “Masterfoam 1000”.
Many manufacturers can make a good memory foam bed relieve pressure better than a mediocre latex mattress. But either way thanks for sending in the study, it is much appreciated on The Mattress Underground.
Thanks,
Sensei
