Latex comparable for Purple mattress

I’ve been shopping around to find what I like and what I don’t, and supplementing that with online resources for insights. I loved the feel of a Purple RestorePlus Hybrid medium, particularly the edge support. I’ve a long history of back problems, and part of my maintenance routine involves oblique stretches that are best done while sitting off the side of the bed. (My current Puffy foam mattress has absolutely nothing to support the side.) However, I’m not one to wager close to $4k on the chance that the mattress doesn’t breakdown in a few years, as it seems Purples are very hit or miss with durability.

I’m quite impressed with all the rave reviews on latex, as well as the options available, but without a way to lay on a latex bed in-store, I’m asking the internet. Is there somewhere to find a latex comparable to the Purple RestorePlus that I liked in store? I see places to order a custom built latex bed, but I can’t find information about the firmness of the various Purple layers.

I’d also like to know if latex mattresses in general are any good with edge support, or if some brands are better than others.

Pertinent info:
5’11", ~225 lbs side sleeper
Major back injuries/surgeries
Some shoulder issues from baseball days
Currently on a full medium-firm Puffy mattress and need something a bit softer.
Happy with the Full size, willing to go to Queen
Sleep alone
Budget: 5k soft max, hopeful to keep it in 2-3k range

I had a Purple 4 in 2018 that I returned because of back pain. The 4 had great pressure relief but the support was lacking.

I did try latex and I like felt talalay latex was similar to the Purple feel. I referred to Purple as a “manmade latex”.

I did try the latest Purples and they did feel better than the Purple 4. I think both the Restore and Rejuvenate felt awesome.

I just got a BackScience2. The BS2 reminded me of a Purple mattress with great lower back support. The mattress is much softer that the “BackScience” name connotes. The BackScience has great pressure relief AND support.

If you love Purple Restore, just get it. Buying it will be an investment in yourself. Trying to copy it will probably not work. And then you will be kicking yourself for not getting it.
