Latex Hybrid DIY with Existing Bed

Hello! I would like to use our existing bed’s coils and DIY a hybrid Latex bed. I have a few questions and was hoping you could help me out.

Our current bed is a King Koil, “Lyric” Pillowtop. It states that the materials are innerspring unit foam 95%, Resinated Textile 4% and Polyester Fiber 1%. If there were fiberglass in this mattress, it would be listed on this tag, correct? Are these coils “good enough” to be used again?

We laid on a bunch of different latex combinations and liked the 10" Obasan mattress. We like a Medium Firm mattress.

As for the layers, do we need a layer under the coils? How many layers on top of the coils? I think we’d be looking at high 20’s ILD.

Is there anything else I need to know before diving in?

I’d suggest contacting Arizona Premium Mattress with your questions since they’re very experienced with such mattress rebuilds as seen on their website: http://arizonamattress.com/how-to-fix-your-sagging-mattress-by-rebuilding-it/ They should be able to address your concerns and are a Trusted Member of TMU. https://mattressunderground.com/list-all/item/arizona-premium-mattress-company
