Latex Hybrid Mattress Search

Hello! My partner and I are about to upgrade from a queen to a king and are on the mattress hunt. Our current mattress is a flippable innerspring with probably mediocre poly foam that we’ve had for 9 years. It’s honestly been fine, but we’d like to get something a little more durable this time.

We are both primarily side sleepers, occasionally back. Never stomach. I’m 5’4” and about 150lbs, he’s 6’ and maybe 175lbs. We don’t have any major back issues. Most of our sleep issues are due to our toddler who still doesn’t sleep through the night and usually ends up in bed with us by 2am

We live in a small city in a rural state, so we don’t have a ton of local options. We found a mattress we like at Denver Mattress that is a latex hybrid with the following specs:

Telluride Medium
Quilt Layers:
Knit zippered cover featuring ICE yarn and PCM cooling Technology
FR Sock

Comfort Layers:
1" Copper Infused 3lb. Visco Foam Topper
2" Talalay 100% Natural Latex
1" 19 gauge Micro-Coil (2226 Coil Count for Queen size mattress)
Laminate Insulator

Support System:
952 Individually Wrapped Coils (Based on Queen size mattress)
2" High Density Base Foam

My questions:
-Any materials in the Telluride we should be wary of?
-Are there any similar mattresses we should consider? Part of me would rather stick with something we were able to try in person, but I also would love to find a similar mattress with slightly better materials, like the use of wool and cotton or more latex.

Thanks! I’ve already learned so much from this website.

Hey Eritsema.

Welcome to our Mattress Forum

Well we’re so happy to hear it!

Honestly, as far as durability goes, it looks like a solid mattress. I personally don’t love metal infused foams but that’s just me. A lot of people love them and have had great success and comfort on the bed. My hang up is when those foams do decide it’s time to breakdown they sort of just…crumble. But, looking at the foam density, I don’t think you’d have that problem or at least not until the reasonable end of the lifespan of the mattress.

You may like to check out what they have at My Green Mattress or Nest Bedding, and also DLX for somewhat similar options (I say similar lightly - it’s actually really hard to compare beds between brands).

This is absolutely fair. Knowing what you’re getting and having tested it in person is an important data point!
